Volunteers Needed

Would you like to make difference to someone? Do you like helping people? Do you want to give something back to people who need help in Sandwell? Are you looking for a potential change in career?

By volunteering, we can help you to help others

We are supporting people who live in Sandwell, in rented accommodation (either council or another registered social landlord, such as a housing association), by suggesting ways to improve how they manage their money.

Some tenants may be changing jobs or moving into a social housing property and may need help with a range of things from finding competitive energy tariffs, white goods, transactional banking to employment opportunities and insurance.

Other tenants will be in receipt of benefits and the introduction of the Welfare Reform Act will create changes for them. They may need help to manage their money on a monthly basis rather than weekly or fortnightly or manage their claim for benefits online.

…. And that’s where you come in!!

You can help by

  • offering assistance to open a current or savings account
  • showing others how to get online or use a computer
  • devising a budget
  • helping staff with information sessions and outreach events

We’d really love to hear from you

We really value our volunteers! Our volunteers are just as vital to our service as our paid staff.

Please get in touch by either completing our contact form (see menu option on left of page), calling us on 0121 561 7935 or by emailing ifcsandwell@bchg.co.uk
